Industrial openings are sized by the equipment that has to pass through them, not by a catalogue. Sliding, folding and lifting types each solve a different constraint — headroom, side room, or frequency of use — so the type is chosen first and the size second.
What to check before you order
- Hinges. Hinge capacity has to match the weight of the leaf. Under-specified hinges are the usual cause of a door dropping on one corner after a few years.
- Installation. Fixings are anchored into the wall, not into the frame lining. On a masonry opening this usually means pre-drilled anchor positions agreed before delivery.
